#IntuneForMSPs Launch Event

MSP WEBINAR · ON-DEMAND · 59 MINS

Will Connor, Chief Community Officer, inforcer; Matthé Smit, Chief Product Officer, inforcer; Lior Bela, Business Director, Microsoft Intune

Will Connor, Chief Community Officer at inforcer, hosts the launch of #IntuneForMSPs, a Microsoft initiative to let MSPs manage Intune across all their customer tenants using the Microsoft 365 Business Premium licenses those customers already pay for. Lior Bela, Business Director of Microsoft Intune, explains why Microsoft backed it after speaking to more than 300 MSPs. The session demos inforcer baselines, alignment scores and multi-tenant deployment, and Matthé Smit, Chief Product Officer at inforcer, previews CIS tenant assessments, Copilot readiness and Entra user management.

Key takeaways

1

Multi-tenancy, not Intune itself, held MSPs back. Lior Bela spoke to more than 300 MSPs and found Intune was ready for SMB customers, but multi-tenant limits and the skill needed to customize it at scale kept MSPs away.

2

Business Premium already covers what MSPs buy separately. Intune comes in Microsoft 365 Business Premium alongside Defender and Entra, so MSPs can drop separate identity, patch management and app management tools and manage Windows, Mac and Android devices from one place.

3

Daily alignment scores expose drift across tenants. inforcer compares each tenant with a baseline such as CIS, refreshes the alignment score every day and tracks policies added or removed between daily backups, so ad hoc engineer changes show up in the UI and email alerts.

4

Having the policies does not prove compliance. Matthé Smit previewed tenant assessment, which checks outcomes against CIS, NIST, Essential Eight or Cyber Essentials; a demo CIS run of 70 checks returned 23 passes, 45 failures and two warnings.

5

Copilot readiness starts with data access hygiene. Copilot for Microsoft 365 can find SharePoint documents connected to a user's account, so labeling and permissions come first; Lior Bela warned that withholding Copilot pushes staff toward public AI tools that may train on company data.
